RAPÈ or "HAPÈ"
Rapè (pronounced "ha-pay") is a sacred shamanic snuff, that has been used by tribes for thousands of years. Not sniffed, snorted or inhaled, Rapè is blown into the nostrils with a special blowpipe called a Kuripe (used for self administration) or a Tepi (that another person administers). Typically a small pea size amount per nostril is used. The base used is primarily wild indian tobacco. There are many different blends made up of specific leaves, tree barks and aromatic or medicinal plants. For those with a sensitivity to tobacco there is a beautiful blend called Apurina Rapè, which is green.
